My granny loved to bake. She always made a variety of different cookies and cakes for birthdays or holidays. And they were all delicious. Granny passed away a few years ago but I still remember some of her recipes and I was lucky to grab the recipe of my favorite sweet: Ribiselecken (Red Currant Triangles). Since the recipe is in German, I’ll give you the English translation below the illustration!

45 decagram(dag) flour, 30 dag margarine, 15 dag crystal sugar, 2 eggs, 1 pack vanilla sugar, lemon peel<
red currant jam, powdered sugar
1) Combine flour, margarine, crystal sugar, eggs and vanilla sugar.
2) Chill for at least 1 hr.
3) Roll dough, cut rectangles and put jam onto one side of the rectangles.
4) Fold the rectangles into triangles and punch down the dough with a fork to seal it.
5) Bake at 175° Celsius and sprinkle with icing sugar!
